Chesterfield College - Uniformed and Public Service course(UPS) have affectively utilised outdoor education to promote safe rewarding, curricular assessed activities. Which has enhanced wellbeing, improved retention and has given the learner new aspirations and self belief? This blog is an account and justification of the need and values of such activities.
Our relationship with the environment is a key issue facing tomorrow’s young people
Chesterfield College UPS tutors promote active learning; through teaching adventures activities in a variety of outdoor environments, introducing learners' to an environment which develops an understanding appreciation, awe, wonder and respect.
Such teaching fosters sensitivity to the environment, helps young people to see themselves in a global context and helps to develop citizens who are aware of the need for sustainable use of the world’s natural resources.
